The Key Components of a Dream Life Vision Board

Step 1: figure out your dream life

Ask yourself what your dream life looks like. Write about it in detail and take plenty of time to allow yourself to make it whatever you want. The goal is to make it feel absolutely perfect for you specifically.

Step 2: Narrow down what are the most important aspects.

What the foundations would be and what would feel absolutely perfect if your life mirrored them.

The reason for this is that we want the photos to be more potent and big enough to really make an impression on us. Too much clutter creates a fuzzy vision, if there is too much to focus on then you won’t be able to focus on any of it. Keep it nice and simple!

The template in this post is composed of four main ideas/ categories, which can be absolutely anything you want it to be.

At the center, there is the most important thing, the thing that holds it all together, the thing that you are 100% in control of, and the thing that would be enough on its own, that will bring you fulfillment no matter what the rest looks like.

This is the top priority and the first thing you focus on when things start to get tough.

For example, If the center is inner peace, how often have you been meditating? What books or lessons do you need to reread and study? When was the last time you rested your mind besides sleep? It might be time to take a step back and listen to your feelings.

Try not to make it a person or thing. Make sure it is fully in your control through your own thoughts and actions. It could be spirituality or determination or some other purpose that can fuel you.

Step 3: Make sure you pick photos that resonate with you.

Does it make you feel happy, hopeful, or determined?

Can you easily mentally insert yourself in the photo? Do the hands look like they could be yours? Can you see yourself taking the picture?

We want to stay away from pictures that are too abstract and don’t reflect what your life could actually look like. If the idea is something not tangible like a feeling, try to find a photo that could make you feel that way, but still seems like real life. For example, if something you want to feel often is love in a romantic relationship,

Instead of the first, maybe go for something more like the second. Heart balloons are lovely, but they don’t communicate love unless in the photo they are given as a gift or for romantic scenery.

Here are a couple of examples and ideas of what you could have for your dream life vision board.
